Trolling

I chose to look at World of Show Jumping’swebsite. They  posts everything from advice to take care of your show jumper, to information about current competitions. To actually post something on her site costs a fee of 5$ for the month or 50$ for the year. Or you can chose just to read the stuff that other people post. This site seems very harmonious. Everyone on there has a purpose to be writing. I would think that because there is the fee to post online many people who are not interested or are trolls (according to Doctorow’s article) don’t bother posting.

With this being said I did find a Facebook page for this blog site that is run by the same girl.  Facebook of course is free to the general public so many people post on this site. She will post up to date information about riding competitions as they are happening around the world. There are a few people who do post on Facebook saying the riding is not a sport, or that a certain stallion throws bad offspring. This is evident because of course people who think the opposite will come back and defend their stand point. However the editor does maintain the site and will delete any negative comments as to end the fighting as soon as possible. For the most part the Facebook page does run fairly well with most supporters however like said is Doctorow’s article that sometimes there are people who are in a bad mood and sometimes there are people who are there to simply poison the discussion.
