This is the class blog for GNED1403-005 in Winter term. This is where you'll post in response to the Monday Tasks that you see listed in the Content Area of Blackboard. Generally, you'll be asked to read an online article or do some online tasks, and then post an entry here. That entry should be a few paragraphs and include links and images; it's also a good idea to edit your paragraphs as best you can, to put your best face on your words.

Click on "New Post" on the top right of the screen, and that will open up a text box where you can write content. Above the text box is a text editor bar, with formatting features for text such as font type, size, bold and italics, font colour, etc. You can change the look of your post by playing with some of these features.

You can transform a word or phrase in the post into a clickable link without having to add the URL into the body of your writing. Just highlight the word or phrase, click on the button "Link" on the text editor bar, and a dialog box will open. You can paste the URL into that box, and select the option to open the link in a new window so that your reader can see the site you're linking to while still being able to see your post.

You can also insert images, such as photos or screen captures; you'll see that a lot of blogs make use of images, to illustrate points or to entertain or to evoke an emotional response.

To insert the image above, I positioned the cursor, clicked on the picture button next to "Link" and browsed a folder on my computer where I saved image files. I opened the image file, then added it to the post, and once it was in the text box, I resized it by clicking on the image and choosing from the options.

Try a practice post using these features this weekend. On Monday, there will be a task posted which will require that you post a response; you'll have until the following task is posted to do that.
