YouTube Expression

YouTube has changed the world when communicating through videos, which are free and easy to use.  Millions of people watch videos every day. Whether they want to learn how to install something or just the latest cat video there is something there for everyone.  It started out small with people that did not have enough money to post their videos anywhere else but has grown to an internet empire where if you ask anyone they will know what YouTube is. At least if it’s not your grandparents…

The music and entertainment industry were very resistant at first because they wanted to make the biggest profit possible and if people were posting videos for free that was cutting into their bottom line. But soon when YouTube became an unstoppable force they decided to join in or get left behind in the dust. Now people can find their favourite music and movie trailers all over YouTube. Companies use the site as a marketing tool to promote their products because it can be seen by so many in a short period of time.

If you talked to anyone and ask if people could ever make money off of the internet years ago they would think you’re crazy. Now people have blogs and YouTube channel that pay them to make videos. When using the site personal, I look up beauty videos which has its own category called beauty gurus. Some of the more popular channels get paid because they have some many viewers. YouTube promotes the making of videos by paying people to make more and keep the audience coming back to the website.  The down sides to YouTube can be the trolling that happens but there is no way to prevent it because the site is based off people’s opinions and likes. Not everyone is going to like the videos people post or their personality but other people may love it. Yes we should never talk badly against someone expressing their ideas but the sad reality is people are going to do it anyways. If you have the courage to post a video then just be strong enough to deal with the outcomes or do not read the comments at all!

 

My personal use of YouTube involves beauty, music and entertainment videos. I follow many beauty guru channels, giving me ideas about make-up and health. I have never actually posted a video because that is not really for me but you never know! Recently I came across a boyfriend and girlfriend channel that is mainly the pair pranking each other in their vlogs (BFvsGF) and their main channel where they go out in the public pranking innocent bystanders (prankvsprank). In their most recent update they prank people that the boyfriend is asking the girlfriend to marry him and she says NO and runs away!
