Images and Rhetoric

The image i have chosen for my avatar is one that could be used for many social sites and it is the one that i currently use for Facebook. The image is from my trip in Waterton in summer 2012 where i climbed to the top of a small mountain which showed the view of the town. I believe that this ethos gives a feeling of adventure and curiosity to the viewers of the image when they glance at it. I chose this picture because i feel that it represents a part of me that loves photography, sight seeing and adventure while maintaining a calm ethos. The reason i chose this picture over a cartoon avatar is because i am generally against anonymity, and i also feel that a cartoon wouldn't represent me as well due to the fact that you are limited by the body parts you can edit.

This image would most likely be one that is seen on social websites such as Facebook, Tumbler, and Instagram due to the energy it gives off. The image is not limited to those places due to the fact that it could pose a good impression on some job interviewers if you wish to get into tourism or travelling and they choose to search you up on Facebook which some companies tend to do. A great website that this picture could be used for would be a photography website that shows images of nature to the readers, and hopefully inspires them and gives them the motivation to travel more or take up photography as either a hobby or become more serious and builds their own business out of it. The biggest resemblance i hope that the readers take out of this image is an adventurous person who also enjoys art in the form of photography and likes to inspire different groups of individuals.
