The use of internet Memes has grown
significantly because they can be entertaining and they help communicate simple
informal messages. Memes generally share the following traits: brevity, familiarity and a heavy lean towards visual delivery.
Personally, I am not the kind of person that
likes spending time creating Memes or looking for new Memes to share with
friends. However, I must admit that I do enjoy viewing some of the Memes that my family
and friends post on Facebook. I have seen some Memes that are entraining and
quit funny.
On the other hand there are some Memes that are harsh and that portray inappropriate messages that can have a negative impact in society. In today’s world people from all ages can access the internet and view these messages therefore, before sharing a Meme or creating one, people have to consider the impact that the Meme can have to others; if the message that it conveys is cruel or inappropriate, then it should not be published.
Memes should only be used to entertain and
portray messages that are not harmful to people. I believe viewing a few Memes
once in a while in order to laugh a little and clear our minds is fine, as long
as it is not a cruel or harsh Meme.
