Youtube

You Tube is one of the most visited sites in the world.  No matter your age, gender, ethnicity, political views, or any other psycho graphic factor, you can find something on youtube that you would enjoy watching.  Youtube is exactly what it claims to be, it is a place to Broadcast Yourself.  Anyone has the ability to make an account and upload videos onto youtube.
After reading the article and thinking about the affects youtube has had on our lives I have come to realize how big it really is.  I would Like everyone to think about the first couple articles we read and what they were about.  Pseudonyms and Online Trolling are areas that I would like to bring up.  Online trolling, or bullying, usually happens because someone has the ability to hide behind a pseudonym.  What youtube has done is forcing people to actually put a face in the video of what they are posting.  Quite often you will see real bullies picking on real victims on youtube.  Since Facebook came along with its photo and video albums the documenting of events with photos and videos has grown exponentially.  A bullying case came up a few years ago about a school yard victim standing up to his bully and actually beating up the kid that pushed him around for years.  Because this was quickly posted on youtube for everyone to see the victim was turned into a hero for standing up to his bully and the bully was really hated on by the public.  An interview was even put on youtube with the bully afterwards.  What this shows us is how powerful of a tool youtube really is.  It puts a face to bullying and can really help bullying victims in need.
Individuals don't understand how fast information travels on the internet and how many people can see it.  If they wish to keep their personal lives private they should not be posting events like this one on the internet.
