Although texting has allowed for more communication between individuals, there has been a drastic decrease in the ability for people to write with grammatically correct English.
As I researched the this topic I found some interesting articles surrounding the topic. I found one article that agreed with my point of view saying "the SMS text messaging function could heighten the tendency among students to adopt non-standard uses and contracted forms of English words in their classwork" (Dansieh, 2011).
